Parsnip harvest...

Parsnip disappointment! Look at the size of the plant compared to the parsnip! Oh well we'll have it with out tea tonight - roast chicken & parsnip...

Absolutely LOVE my new shed....

Tomatoes Already!

Thrilled that my tomatoes plants are already producing fruit.... It seems REALLY early but there they are. By contrast my tomatoes plants grown from seed have all gone to slug heaven (or maybe it's hell!) Sad face :-( .....

Update report

Courgettes & French Bean seeds in today. Hope they sprout. They didn't last year.... It might be because the seeds are quite old... We'll see.

Aubergines seedlings doing well in the propergator. Also VERY EXCITING NEWS..... Potting she'd arrives 31st May.....

12th April 2015 - just to say French beans did succeed, quite a good crop. Courgettes not so good fir some reason, had a few but literally three of four in total! Hey ho, that's home grown veg for you....

Cabbages in Butterfly's out

Well that's the plan anyway.... Let's see if it works ?

12th April 2015 - unfortunately the plan didn't work....! It needs some serious adjusting..... Firstly the plants did really well but grew so big that the leaves touch the top of the net and the butterfly's got to lay their eggs anyway. I highered the net but could really get it big enough. Need a proper frame. ALSO the bloody butterfly's find a way in and then of course it was all over..... The caterpillars had a great start in life.... Eventually I got one very small,  but quite tasty cabbage.

Out with the bottle in with the planks...

Time for a proper raised bed, apparently my bottles make the garden look like step toes yard...

So it's bye bye bottles.......
