Slugs.................

My efforts have been all but eaten and my little plot is looking very sorry for its self. Apart from a few healthy looking parsnips leaves there isn’t anything else that has survived... All the courgettes, squash and pumpkin plants have been eaten, the cauliflowers have gone, the leeks didn’t even bother to show their faces and only one of the Dwarf French Bean plants still remains! A pitiful site... The courgette in the pot has faired better and I have had two good sized courgettes from this one plant already. The alpine strawberries and fruiting and if I'm lucky I will get some toms again this year. Strawberry pot has again been fruitless. The plants look healthy enough but just not fruit. As its all been a bit of a disaster for the summer veg I might grow Purple Sprouting Broccoli for the new year instead and maybe Brussels for Christmas dinner.... watch this space....
